Yesterday, I spent the whole day one-on-one with my youngest son, a treat for both of us. The youngest child rarely receives the luxury of mom's undivided attention. My oldest went to attend a camp trip to Canobie Lake, an amusement park, where he "nearly tossed his lunch" by riding two rollercoasters and a spinning ride in quick succession. My youngest, who prefers quiet places and calm activities, wisely opted out.
A day that included lunch and ice cream and a walk with Brownie was perfect. We both treasure our time together. Our faithful dogsitters/housesitters/plant-waterers will soon be arriving to take my son's place at the end of the leash for a few days.
